Which is better from these two Sony Camcorders?
The SONY HDR-XR520V or the SONY HDR-CX520V?

1. I would prefer the CX520V because it's a flash memory cam. The XR520V is a HDD (Hard Disk Drive) cam. HDD cams are susceptible to being easily damaged if the camera were to be dropped or jolted abruptly. Plus there can be problems used in high elevations. And the HDD cams consume more battery power.
2. It's not a question of which is better. One of them (the XR) is a hard disk Handycam, while the other (CX) is a flash memory Handycam.
Now the flash one is more durable, no moving parts means that it won't break if you dropped it on the floor. However, it has limited capacity.
The HDD is less durable; if you drop it or place it next to a loudspeaker, it'll definitely break. But the capacities are immense.
IMO, go with the flash memory one, because you'll never need the HUGE capacity that the HDD offers. Plus it's more durable and you can always upgrade the mem using the SD card slot. Also, the XR520 has a little bump on its right where the hard disk sits. The CX has no such thing.
