What are some good mini DV camcorders?

I already own a Panasonic mini DV camcorder, but it's getting old and the quality isn't great. I'm looking into buying a new camera to replace this one. It has to be compatible with iMovie HD and '08 as well as Final Cut Express or Pro? What would be a good choice? I'd like to keep the price under $200.

3. sony makes some good camcorders they even make a couple mini dv hi def ones

4. Under $200? That will be a challenge.

In that range, the only ones I can come up with are the Canon ZR800 and ZR900. All miniDV tape based camcorder will work just fine with iMovieHD and FinalCut as you will import the video when the camcorder is in play mode and connected to your Mac with a 4-pin to 6-pin Firewire (IEEE1394a) cable.

The ZR800 and ZR900 each have a mic-in jack - but do not have manual audio control.
