Whay does JVC asks high prices for its consumer camcorders?

The price for JVC camcorders like Everio GZ275, GZ555, etc are higher that their peers from other companies like Sony and Panasonic. What does JVC offers for such high prices?

1. Perhaps because people will pay those prices. In part, this is based on the idea that those who buy the higher priced item are getting the better product. While that may not be true, it is what they believe. In the end, JVC says our product costs this much, if you want it, pay it. If not, buy something else. Obviously they are still in business because there are enough people who are willing to pay their asking price.
