Sony Camcorders - Owners - Opinions, advice (good and bad)?

To anyone who owns one of the recent Sony Mini-DV handycams, eg DCR-HC27, DC-HC37, DCR-HC47.

Read some reviews that said the camera was great but the software is really hard to use and the USB connectivity is also a big let down. Apparently Sony PC based software is always a negative issue with their product.

Anyone who has had any experience with them, did you like it (eg., out of 10), easy to use, what's good and what are the let downs and would you buy another.

Thanks BM

1. i would rate them 6, because they lack functionality. i'd prefer buying a HDR-SR8E, very powerful...

2. I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC28 It is great... we use several different cameras (bigger production and field cameras) but I also use my "little" Sony for some things... During the Harry Potter book release I needed to film at Borders Books and we had our other cameras on some other shoots...

LONG STORY SHORT THEY WORK GREAT
I give them a 10 out of 10, for the $200-$280 range!!!

They are easy to use and have a relatively good mic

Check out the Harry Potter footage I shot with this "little" camera (no mikes, lights or touch-up) this camera is like $300 and worth every penny our company has about 20 of them for each person who works with us... I wish they had a better battery that came with them but we just use one from EBay ($10 on EBay for a 4 hr battery) Here is the site...
