Does anyone know if Sony European 8mm camcorders are colored?

I borrowed one from someone and was wondering if I can make my homevideos from the 90's (from another Sony camcorder) into color. If you can make the video camera set in color mode, what do you have to do? PAT or NSC? or something else. Thank you.
