what canon DVD Camcorders should i buy ? i want to watch what i record on my computer?

1. None. Not limited to Canon - No one should waste their time/money on a consumer grade standard definition DVD based camcorder.

In order of preference baed on video quality presuming the camcorders are about the same price:

MiniDV tape (your computer must have a firewire port);

Flash memory (video file is copied over USB and while the files are the same as those captured by hard disc drive camcorders, the removeable memory and lack of a motor make them advantageous if your computer has no firewire port and you cannot add one).

Hard disc drive.

2. Little Dog's right! You can watch / edit any camcorder's footage on your computer.

3. before you get too excited, you better check to be sure that your computer DVD drive can actually play the little miniDVD discs. Most tray loader drives will work but slot loaders is another story. for convenience, the HDD style camcorders offer a lot more than miniDVD, not the least is more than 20 minutes record time and no need to finalize.
