How reliable are Canon Powershot digital cameras?
I heard they're really good, but not sure what to get. I don't need more than 10 megapixels because I heard MP is overrated anyway, but I want at least 6 or 7 MP. I also don't want to spend more than $150. What should I get? Thanks

1. you will get an older Canon...try to get around 500 plus to get a good camera....thats 500 USD
2. I have the Canon A630. It is fabulous!!!!!!
3. The powershot A610 is a great wee camera, its only a 5megapixel but has a 4x optical zoom and 20 shooting modes, very reliable and takes great pictures and should be in your price range if you shop around.
4. had bad luck with the g7, but S3IS and g9 work great for me without problems.
5. I got a Canon SD870 off of www.beachcamera.com and it's great. I got it at the beginning of the summer and it's been fantastic. I has around 8MP and I got it for $250 but it maybe be cheaper now..
My dad has had a Canon for the past year or two and it's still working fine. The build quality on the canon cameras are amazing in my opinion and I think they look better than the competitors.
6. Canon has quite a few good models available. If you want an ultra compact point & shoot type camera, then have a look at the SD (Ixus) models. All the newer models feature image stabilization (IS), so make sure you don't get one without it. These cameras really are cool. They can be a little slippery at times, so make sure you attach (and always use) the hand strap. The SD1100 IS (Ixus 80) would be a good choice. It has 8MP and costs around $170.
Or, if you prefer a camera with full manual control, have a look at the A series of cameras (not all have this feature, though).
The first link below shows you all the models...
7. Canon's are good. Look at the Canon A-590IS it can be found on sale for $149 at walmart. Best under $200 camera IMHO.
