I would like to know if Canon digital cameras are made in Japan?

Canon Powershot A590-IS is the one camera I am interested the most.

1. Most cameras are made in Malaysia, Thailand, or Tawain nowadays. Call Canon or go to the store and look on the display cameras or on the boxes.

2. My powershot A580 is made in malasia

3. Canon's professional cameras are made in Japan.

4. My Canon Powershot SD1000 and my Canon 20D are both made in Japan. It seems that different models are made in different places.

5. There is also a possibility that Canon makes cameras in more than one place at a time or moves production. My S5 was made in Japan, but other S5 users say theirs was made in China.
