How to use my sony camcorder instead of webcam?

how would i use my sony dvd handycam camcorder as a webcam? its possible, i just dont know how. and i have a USB cable, not a firewire. please help! thanks.

1. Most DVD and hard drive cams can't be used as a web cam. If they can it would be by using the USB cable connecting the camera and the computer.

It would also mention it in the camcorder's manual.
