Digital cameras: Canon or Panasonic?

I have about $300 to spend on a new digital camera. I'm looking at either the Canon SD1000 or the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX12K. I really just want something fast, good quality pictures, and a durable camera I can carry in my pocket. Crazy camera modes are also desirable.
Does anyone have either of these cameras who can tell me which one to go with?
Thanks!

1. CANON
there is no comparison between the two

2. for $300 go to this link and look at all the selections you can have, there are three pages of pocket cameras that you want to have...it depends on the features that you want but here is a selection to tease your mind:

3. definitely go with Canon

4. Forget the others get the canon. best prices at http://www.monstermall.org use the search box

5. canon

6. I have owned both those cameras, and without a doubt the canon SD1000 is a durable and fast camera with excellent picture quality. Plus, it has some amazing features if you take the time to read about it.

i am enclosing a couple of link which prove helpful for you.
One is how to make money with your camera, another is about getting the most professional images without being a professional photographer, and one is about understanding and choosing the right camera.

I hope this helps.
