Is there a way to put a video from a canon camcorder on the computer without using a memory card?
I have a history project and we had to record something and I have a Canon camcorder, and I have the video on the camera, but I can't get it on my computer. It didnt save to the memory card, is there a way to put it on the memory card without putting it on the computer first? Or is there a way to get it on with out the memory card? I need to have this done ASAP, just help with any of this would be nice... thank you!

1. if it saved to the hard drive i believe that hdd camcorders use usb to transfer to the computer or firewire (minidv's use this).
2. It would be helpful to know the camcorder model number. If it is a miniDV tape based camcorder, it is likely that "transfer" to the memory card is not possible - but if it is possible, there would be instructions to do that in the camcorder manual.
If it is a miniDV tape based camcorder, you need to connect the camcorder's DV port (not USB) to the computer's firewire port (not USB) using a firewire cable. Import the video using your video editor or an import tool. Since you did not tell us whcich computer, we have no way to know what you might have available to use.
USB will not work. USB-to-firewire converter/cable/hub/adapter things will not work.
The DV port on the minDV tape based camcorder is always 4-pin. Your computer's firewire port *could* be 4-pin, 6-pin or 9-pin.
Firewire, i.LINK, IEEE1394 and DV are all the same thing. And they are not USB.
