Are the latest Sony HD camcorders editable with Movie maker? I know the early HD camcorders had the huge drawback that you couldnt edit the footage. Is it commonplace for Sony MiniDV HC28 camcorders' charger ports to stop working? I was recording something with the charger plugged in, and I am not sure what happened but I heard some sort of quick sizzle sound and now whenever I plug anything into the port the camera turns off. I have gotten a separate battery charger but is my port now forever useless? Is this common? Do you have any idea how it could have happened?

has anyone tried the HVL-IRM Nightshot Video Light for sony camcorders? I would like to know if quality is clear and if it captures wide areas instead of just long narrow areas. Also can this infared light be used inside while lights are one. I was planning on getting a 3w light but i heard that lights are terrible to use because they blind the ppls eyes. How do I transfer whats on a videotape to my new Sony camcorder NOT just by recording the TV screen? Hi - I had an older camcorder - it was an analog sony handycam of the late nineties - and there was a way to put it in VTR mode (i think thats what it was called...when you put it in the mode to watch the vids) there was a way to hook it up to the tv press a couple camcorder buttons simultaneously so that the picture on the television was transferred to the camcorder and you could record it directly by using the cable and pressing a few buttons. I cannot figure out how to do this with my new camcorder - it's a sony digital DCRHC36 (it takes those little mini-tapes) and i've resorted to filming the screen but that just is not working (fuzzy pic, stripes, outside noise, etc) does anyone know how to do with the new camcorder what i was able to do with the old one? For SONY Camcorders. Is there any software that can "erase" a DVD-RW? Apparently the NERO software that came with the camcorder "erases" the DVD, but then the DVD disc is seen as an error with the camcorder. SONY says, you have to use the camcorder to reformat the DVDs. I have a few DVDs that are garbbage now, but still work with the PC. There must be some software out there that can reformat a DVD to let the camcorder recognize it.

PMB software for sony camcorders question? i just installed PBM on my computer and hooked my sony camcorder handycam up. the software only lets me upload youtube vids up to 1:08 min. if anybody knows how to extend the amount of video time that can be uploaded on to youtube say like 8:56 min. please tell directions thank you much!
does the smooth slow record function on Sony camcorders record at full resolution? I have noticed that all the current "slow motion" capable consumer priced dslr cams state that when recording at higher frames rates the resolution is reduced (such as the samsung TL series that records up to 1000 fps, but to do so reduces the resolution to a meager 136x78).
