Canon 5D mark ii vs. Canon HD camcorders for HD video? Hello, let me make this quick and to the point. I have around 3k. I'm purchasing a camera and a camcorder. I am primarily a photographer, but I really would like to be able to take some stunning and high quality video. My question is....do I get a nikon D300 w/lenses for around 2300 and just pick up a normal HD camcorder for around 700.... Or do I just get the Canon EOS mark ii 5d so i can use that for both video and photography. It seems like the video abilities of the mark ii are better than those of your typical 700 dollar HD camcorders...at least from what I have seen samples wise, and on youtube HD.

Are all Canon Vixia HD camcorders compatible with Vista? ? I checked the Best Buy website for the Vixia HF10 and the HF11. When compared against each other the sheet says neither are compatible with Vista. However, I was told at Best Buy in person that they both will work with XP and if something is compatible with Windows XP that it is also compatible with Vista. Why Camcorders in Night mode they start lagging and not smooth and stable? I've owned some panasonic, canon and jvc camcorders and they all have night mode options to increase visibility in night, but they all start to lag and I've been wondering why they can't just stay smooth and stable. currently i have one of the new Jvc everio and does the same, why putting that in cameras if its going to lag, is useless. can anybody explain why this happens to camcorders when switch to night mode?

Are the Canon FS series camcorders good for Youtube and artistic short film? I'm a novice filmmaker looking to start a vlog soon, but I plan to shoot outside a lot and possibly use far zooming/low light shooting. I'm looking for the best quality/resolution camcorder available within a $200-500 price range, and the Canon FS cameras seem to have it. I should mention that I've chosen a flash memory camera because I hear that both the image and sound quality is better in relation to HDD due to the compression of the files. In addition, I am told the memory sticks are extremely inexpensive and reusable nowadays. I also like this camera because of the option to add an external mic, which I think I may have a use for in noisy situations. The only drawback about the FS100 is that I hear that the provided editing software is horrible, but that's ok considering I plan to use Windows Media Maker anyway. I just have a few questions that I need answered yet: 1.) I hear the videos made are MOD files, so can they be converted into a high quality format to use on Youtube? 2.) I have considered shooting in sephia or blue surreal coloration. Does this camcorder have any of those options? 3.) And by far my biggest concern: How easy would it be to upload my videos to Youtube using this camcorder? Is flash memory the best way to go in terms of getting the highest possible quality on Youtube?

How bad is the sound of the mechanism in camcorders? I have read on many customer review sites that many camcorders have a hissing sound when playing back the video. This is because the mic picks up the mechanism sound in the tape compartment. How loud is this sound and does it ruin videos. Is it noticeable???.. I am especially looking at the canon elura 1000. HD camcorders- which are better, Sony or Canon? Specifically, the camcorders in the $700- $1000 range. I'm a little confused about the whole AVCHD thing and the pros/ cons of either brand, especially when it comes to transferring the video from the camcorder to a DVD. I do not have a blueray recorder, so I would need to get an AVCHD burner and player separately. that hardly counts as an answer.

I am aware that the XL-2 only offers standard definition recording, and that I'm mixing a cropped sensor, a full-frame sensor, a 1/2 inch sensor, and 3 1/3 inch sensors. I am a stickler for quality, so they have to perform well to meet my expectations...But that's just me. :) Any help would be great, as this is something I cannot really figure out. :/ I guess the answer may be obvious, but I can't decide. THAT'S MY PROBLEM!!!!! :P
For camcorders: Canon, JVC, or Sony? Which company would be the most reliable company to buy a camcorder from? I want it to be good quality and last long :D
What are some similar camcorders like the Canon GL2? Near that price range. Desired Brands such as: Sony, Canon, JVC etc. Must have firewire connectivity and I don't care for HD/ Standard Definiton.
can we use sony or canon lens and filters for panasonic or other camcorders and camera? is it possible to fix the lens or filters of one brand to other brand camcorders or cameras to take pictures or shoot videos?
Are the Canon FS100 and FS11 Camcorders the sam thing? if not which one is better? i am a bit confused because i was looking for a new camcorder and when i search fs100 or fs11 the both look exactly the same and i get mixed searches like the canon fs100 turning up in the fs11 search and the other way round can someone explain please and do they both have mic inputs? and which one is better?
